if anyone (with a particularly large wallet) was wondering what to get me for my birthday (December 20th, ya hear?!) I suggest you look at the work of Jordan Eagles
I first discovered him with the azn at Bridge Art Fair '07 while tearing up Art Basel and he has been on my mind ever since.
His work is composed of blood (according to the rep at Bridge, its animal blood) and resin.
Gory, eh?
i find his work to be simple and beautiful yet quite disturbing.
